"Come and get it boys.” Those are the opening words to “Felonious Bologna”, the debut record from Troy, Ohio’s Boondah. This band plays music that is well, indescribable. Imagine if Clutch beat up the Butthole Surfers, did it on a reality show, and your still not even close. Drummer Rob Kinney and Bassist Pat Smith lay down a foundation of grooves that sounds like it could implode at any moment, yet so solid, if you took it away, the whole thing would crumble, while Guitarist Sam Ratliff spins riffs and notes around like a magician on acid, playing licks most guitarists couldn’t comprehend. And then we have Vocalist Mario Criner. Spitting words as if he were an MC at a mental institution New Years Eve party, he sings about whores, bologna, doing the nasty with Christina Ricci, and Pat Benatars neck. Everybody is always saying there is nothing original out there. Well you’ve never heard any thing like this. Guaranteed.
